I'll see if I can find something that better represents the "layers" in an image and will update this post when I do (it's also possible another member of the community can explain it better than I, in which case, please do!).To open the Editor, click Open Editor on the bottom right corner of Snagit. I know it can be a bit confusing and I apologize for that. Now, if you wanted to set the Highlighter that is Layer 4 "behind" the Red Box that is Layer 3, you would go to Arrange - Send Backward on the Highlighter effect, or you would go to Arrange - Send to Front on the Red Box that is Layer 3. So your first annotation, say an Arrow, is Layer 2, then you draw a red box around some text on the background image and this is Layer 3, then you use the Highlighter to highlight the text that is Layer 4. When you add a callout, stamp, shape, text, or other annotations to a screenshot, each item creates a new layer with the background (original) image is Layer 1, then each annotation you add, adds a new layer. The "Arrange - Send to." options are used when you have multiple layers on an image and will be greyed out if you don't have any layers available to use.
